Artist Spotlight: Laura Hohn, Building Connections Through Art and Small Business
Foundry Art Centre studio artist, Laura Hohn, was first exposed to art at a young age by her grandmother who was a painter. After visiting an art festival and seeing a potter, she begged her mom to buy her some clay to start creating pottery of her own. This was the start of finding and enhancing her passion. Throughout her years in school, she took many art classes and went on to get a degree in fine arts with an emphasis in ceramics from Wesleyan University.
She started working as an apprentice, then became a studio artist at the Foundry in 2006. Hohn’s ceramics and pottery serve as aesthetic and functional pieces for homes and people’s daily lives. Her work can be found and purchased in Studio 21 at the Foundry.
